🌱 Solar Energy Conference At UNM + Gun Buyback Program

Hello everybody. I’m here with your Monday edition of the Albuquerque Daily, full of all the things you need to know about what’s happening locally. Here’s the lowdown.

First, today’s weather:

Breezy in the afternoon. High: 95 Low: 66.

Here are the top three stories today in Albuquerque:

  1. Bernalillo County’s District Attorney’s Office has warned the community about a series of phone scams meant to steal money and personal information. The office has received multiple complaints regarding the scam. The scammers pose as investigators of the office and demand money to resolve missed grand jury hearing issues. Anyone receiving a similar call is asked to contact the office. (KOB 4)
  2. The American Solar Energy Society will be holding its annual National Solar Conference at the University of New Mexico from June 21 through June 24. The conference’s theme will be “Energy Transition with Economic Justice”. Click for the full list of speakers and how to register. ()
  3. Albuquerque’s gun buyback program collected and destroyed hundreds of guns on Saturday. The “Guns to Gardens” event bought back pistols, long guns, and illegally altered firearms from residents. Each individual was given a $250 gift card in exchange for a firearm. (KOB 4)
