2021 New Mexico Bowl Teams: Who Will Play Albuquerque on December 18th?

The UTEP Miners and Fresno State Bulldogs will compete in the New Mexico Bowl 2021, according to Brett McMurphy. The game will take place at Dreamstyle Stadium in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Kick-off is currently scheduled for Saturday, December 18, 2021 at 2:15 p.m. ET. The game will be broadcast on ESPN and available via live stream on WatchESPN.

TX El Paso (7-5, 4-4 Conference USA)

UTEP struggled during the regular season as they lost four of their last five games but still qualified for a bowl after starting the year 6-1. The team’s success came on the defensive side of the ball, ranked 23rd in opposing yards per game prior to the conference championship weekend. Gavin Hardison struggled with losing the ball when he threw 12 interceptions during the regular season.

The Bulldogs had a successful season, going 9-3 at Mountain West, and caught UCLA’s surprise. Fresno state loses coach Kalen DeBoer to Washington, and star quarterback Jake Haener has announced that he will be leaving the program. We’ll see what the Bulldogs have to work with at bowl game, which should be a decent one for a program that has been gaining traction in recent years.
