4 shot and wounded at a house party on the west side of Albuquerque

ALBUQUERQUE, NM (AP) – Four people were shot and injured at a large house party on the west side of Albuquerque, but authorities said no one was seriously injured.

Police said the officers responded to the crime scene shortly after 1 a.m. on Saturday after receiving an 911 call.

Four people at the party sustained gunshot wounds to their legs, although police said none of the injuries were life-threatening.

They said gunfire also hit several homes and vehicles in the neighborhood, but there were no reports of injuries in those homes.

Detectives from the Gun Violence Reduction Unit at Police Headquarters seized several firearms during the investigation.

Albuquerque Police Chief Harold Medina said it was the second time in two months that large house parties had resulted in a barrage.

Detectives have identified several individuals involved and they will work with prosecutors to bring charges against those responsible, Medina added.
