Homicides in Albuquerque break the record in 2019

ALBUQUERQUE, NM (KRQE) – The city of Albuquerque breaks records with more than 100 murders this year. The record was set in 2019 with at least 80 homicides recorded.

As of December 27, there were a total of 108 homicides for the year and 112 murder victims, according to Albuquerque police. Then at least one other murder was reported.

Officials responded to a domestic dispute on Wednesday evening. When they arrived, they found a man shot dead. The suspect had been arrested for questioning in the case, but no charges were brought at the last check-up.

The list does not include justified homicides or negligent homicide, according to the APD, and may change to reflect current investigations. As early as October, the Albuquerque Metro Crime Stoppers began offering a reward of US $ 2,500 for information about the murders.
