Balanced Physical Therapy and Wellness expanded again with the opening of the third location at the end of September.

The new location in 1540 Tramway NE is about eight kilometers south of the company’s first clinic in Tramway and Paseo del Norte.

However, managers Clark Bearsmith and Kevin Williams said the decision to open a second tram location is an indication of the company’s success since the first clinic typically treated 8-10 patients at a time.

Clients work one-on-one with physical therapists, so Bearsmith said it made sense to open a third location to facilitate social distancing.

Bearsmith said Balanced Physical Therapy began considering a third location last fall, but didn’t start renting the new space until the spring of this year.

The new 3,800-square-foot space currently has four physical therapists on staff, though plans are to eventually hire several more, Bearsmith said.

As with the other locations, the new clinic will focus on a wide range of types of physical therapy, from orthopedics to the pelvic floor, but Bearsmith hopes to focus more on sports rehab in this location.

“Part of the vision for this separate clinic is to get more into sports rehabilitation and (the) post-operative area,” he said. “Both Kevin and I are, I think you could call them self-proclaimed athletes, even when we don’t really compete, we just love to move around and be active.”

Williams said there is a great need for physical education, especially among the baby boomer population, but this type of physical therapy can also be beneficial for young athletes.

To become a client, patients can either get a referral from a family doctor or go straight to the clinic where they will check your insurance to see if it is accepted.

The therapists see their clients Monday to Thursday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Fridays from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
