Farmington, New Mexico resident Marvon Greg Richardson “Quit It”, 53, died August 19, 2022 in Farmington, New Mexico.

Greg was born in La Jara, Colorado on December 7, 1968, the son of Marty Richardson and Jennice and Jasper Quintana, Jr. He was the oldest of 5, being the only son, brother to four sisters whom he loved to tease to death , but he was always there for them. He graduated from Centauri High School in 1987. He excelled in academics, which was mentioned in Americas Who’s Who among outstanding high school students. He loved wrestling and started at the age of four in kid wresting with Bruce Denton and wrestled all through high school receiving many honors, ribbons, and trophies. He attended Adams State College for 2 ½ years, then joined the work force. He worked for the Colorado Department of Transportation, Conejos County and most recently the City of Farmington.

He enjoyed life and loved to hunt and fish. He especially loved doing these things with his son little Marty. They shared some really fun times hunting and fishing. He loved being in the mountains. He was an avid fan of the Denver Broncos.

Greg was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved his savior and heavenly father and read his scriptures and would discuss religion with family members. He always said he was grateful for his uncle Larry Whitney, who taught him how to hunt, and for his uncle Gary Vance, who taught him to fish. He was a lot of fun to be around and could make anybody laugh. Greg was loved by all who knew him.

He is survived by his children Brandi (Danny) Medina Capulin, Colorado; Marvon Greg Richardson, Jr. of La Jara, Colorado; his parents Marty Richardson of Antonito, Colorado, Jennice and Jasper Quintana of Thornton, Colorado; his four sisters Jaime (Cameron) Decker of La Jara, Colorado, Kyla (Brant) Anderson of Sanford, Colorado, Margo (Todd) Cordrey of Cortez, Colorado, and Breean (Alan) Richardson of Goodyear, Arizona; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He will be greatly missed by all.

Greg was very well known by all for his nickname “Quit it”. Anytime you would say something to him, he would reply “Quit It”.

Greg loved to cook and his favorites were any kind of chili and especially bar-b-que. He was a master of the Bar-b-que grill. He later discovered the air fryer and told his mother there wasn’t anything he couldn’t cook in it and how healthy it was.

Visitations will be held from 6:00-8:00 pm Friday, August 26, 2022 at the Rogers Family Mortuary in Manassa, and 12:00-12:45 pm Saturday, August 27th followed by a Funeral Service Saturday 1:00 pm at the Fox Creek Branch of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Interment will follow services in the Nance Cemetery in Manassa.
