Albuquerque Fire Rescue responded to a house fire Wednesday evening in Southwest Albuquerque. The fire was at Whispering Street Southwest. The residents of the home were able to exit before AFR units arrived. Its units were able to extinguish the fire and mitigate the spread to nearby residences.Two cats inside the home were found dead inside the home, according to AFR. Another three cats are also missing following the fire. There were no other injuries reported. There was significant damage to the house and the residents were not able to return.
