ALBUQUERQUE, NM – APD opened an investigation Thursday morning into a nightly hit and run accident north of Sunport.
Officials responded to reports of a crash on Girard Boulevard SE and Vail Avenue SE at around 4 a.m. on Thursday. The investigation found that a pedestrian was walking east across Girard near the Vail Junction when an older gray sedan drove north on Girard and hit the pedestrian. The driver fled and the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
