Argentina’s Santa Fe province launches pipeline tender

news

The Santa Fe province infrastructure, public service and environment ministry has launched a tender to build a US$29.3mn gas pipeline in eastern Argentina.

The Metropolitan pipeline will carry natural gas to 100,000 users, according to provincial energy company Enerfe, by connecting the Northeastern pipeline (GNEA) at the town of Esperanza with the town of Arroyo Leyes to the east, crossing the city of Santa Fe and supplying the surrounding towns of Monte Vera and Recreo, as well as San José del Rincón.

“This is a large project, to be developed with national funds and which will take gas to places where the service does not exist, encourage new industry and the creation of new jobs in the region,” said Santa Fe public works secretary Carlos Maina.

The tender is split into two sections, one comprising the purchase of the pipeline itself, budgeted at 562mn pesos (US$5.4mn), and the other involving construction of the project, budgeted at 2.5bn pesos.

Companies can submit offers from January 31 to March 21, Enerfe said. Questions can be sent to the state-owned company. The details of the tender can be seen here (construction) and here (pipeline purchase), in Spanish.
