Check out what’s going on around Las Cruces for Father’s Day weekend

LAS CRUCES – Father’s Day is Sunday, June 19 and the Las Cruces community is hosting various events. Here’s a list of what’s on the schedule this weekend, just in case you need a few ideas.

Golf and Steak Dinner at the NMSU course

The New Mexico State University Golf Course is hosting fathers Friday at the course for an afternoon of golf, beer and steak. The driving range opens at 4 pm and four-player shotgun starts at 5:30 pm Appetizers, prizes, beer and bourbon will be available for tasting. A steak dinner will be served after nine holes of golf.

The all-inclusive package is available for purchase, as well as a dinner-only option. Call 575-646-4802 to reserve a spot.

Celebration at Casa de Tobacco Cigar & Lounge

Starting at 10 am Saturday, Casa de Tobacco Cigar & Lounge will be hosting a Father’s Day celebration at their location at 2460 S. Locust St. Along with a selection of cigars and tobacco, there will be live music, food truck, raffles and more .

Father’s Day Tardeada & Dinner at Grapevine Plaza

The Las Cruces International Mariachi Conference is hosting a special Father’s Day celebration Sunday with music and food at the Grapevine Plaza at 3900 W. Picacho Ave. Participants of the tardeada, a Sunday afternoon party or festival, will be entertained by mariachi music, ballet folklorico and other dancing. Dinner and drinks will be served.

Festivities will be held between 3 and 6 pm June 19. Individual tickets are $50 each and couples’ tickets are $85. Tickets can be purchased online at https://www.lascrucesmariachi.org/event-details/fathers-day-tardeada-dinner.

Black Heart Saints will perform a Father's Day Concert at 7 pm Sunday, June 19, at Young Park, 1905 E. Nevada Ave.

City of Las Cruces concert featuring Black Heart Saints

The City of Las Cruces Parks & Recreation Department will host a free concert on Father’s Day starting at 7 pm at Young Park, 1905 E. Nevada Ave. The award-winning, Billboard Top 20 Rock Band Black Heart Saints will headline the concert, which is part of the department’s summer music in the Park Series. Las Cruces-based band Oldies but Goodies will open.

Broken Dime Band at Sunland Park Racetrack and Casino

El Paso-based Broken Dime Band is taking to the Sunday stage in the Franklin’s Lounge at the Sunland Park Racetrack and Casino. Take in the cumbia, norteño, disco, country, Spanish rock and classic rock music while you’re having some fun at the casino.

Admission is free and attendees must be 21 and up. The band will play from 8:30 pm to midnight.
