ALBUQUERQUE, NM – Children going to school this fall can grab a free backpack full of school supplies, books, and coupons for things like clothes, haircuts, food, and more during a Saturday event in Civic Plaza.

Cruzin ‘Into the School Year runs from 10 am to 2 pm and is sponsored by the Albuquerque Family and Community Services Department.

In addition, providers will be available to provide physical exercise necessary for children wishing to participate in school sports. Children from the age of 12 can also be vaccinated against COVID with the consent of their parents.

The event also features music, a car show, and activities for children.

Students must be present to receive their free backpacks.
