Connect with APS Schools the Week of Oct. 24

The APS School Choice Fair on Oct. 25 will highlight our magnet schools. That same week, we’re hosting school community fairs that will showcase the schools in your neighborhood.

“One of the advantages of being a large urban-suburban-rural school district is our ability to offer so many choices, from traditional neighborhood schools to smaller magnet schools with focused areas of study. And within all of our schools, there are programs, Activities, classes, pathways, and support systems designed to fit the needs of a diverse, curious, and impressionable student body.” — APS Superintendent Scott Elder

For nearly a decade, Albuquerque Public Schools has hosted a School Choice Fair that traditionally showcases magnet and charter schools across the district.

This year, we’re adding school community fairs at most of our comprehensive high schools that will highlight the schools in your neighborhood, too.

The idea is to help students and families find the right fit by exploring all our schools offer. Let us help you make the best choice for your student in the 2023-2024 school year.

Learn more about your neighborhood’s elementary, middle, and high schools. Featured programs may include:

  • Genius Hour
  • Dual language
  • AVID
  • community schools
  • Athletics and clubs
  • electives
  • Specialized programs
  • Information will also be available on kindergarten and transitioning from elementary to middle and middle to high school.

Schools are still working out the details for the school community fairs. Watch for information from your child’s principal or contact the high school for more details.
