Ledes from the Land of Enchantment

Copper Country News | Marianna Moss

Marianna Moss was born on the first day of spring, March 20, 1948, in Globe, Arizona to MC and Diana Davis. In 1995 she moved to Bloomfield, where she lived in Farmington, New Mexico, until her death on December 12, 2021. She was 73 years old.

Marianna has been married twice in her life and they were both important to her life because they shaped her into the person we all knew and loved and the person she eventually became. In her first marriage to Jerry Mischler, she was blessed with three children. In her second marriage to James Moss, she was able to get a second chance at love.

She had a passion for knitting, crafts and jigsaw puzzles. Growing up, she enjoyed Girl Scouts, softball, and Pop Warner football with her children. And when they were all grown, she enjoyed reading, movies, and her fur babies.

After the death of her second husband, she enjoyed helping care for people in nursing homes and helping others in need by working in a funeral home. She continued this until she had to leave and fend for herself. What few of us knew was that she was a generous donor to several charities.

She was preceded in death by her mother Diana Davis and husband James Moss. She is survived by her father MC Davis; her sisters Becky Thomey and Elaine Lewis; her little brother James Davis; her three children, Anna Bouren, Jerry Lee Mischler and Regina Johnson; her three bonus daughters Janice, Tresa and Missy; her grandchildren Annabel, AJ, Ashley, Brandie, Brittney, Cherie, Chris, Crystal, Hunter, Joe, Samantha, Sarah, Springer, Tandra and Toni; and over 30 great-grandchildren.

The family plans a celebration of life in the spring. Her children and grandchildren will remember her as their “Mimi” and she will be missed forever.

The funeral home responsible for preparation is Alternative Choice Funeral and Cremation, 804 N. Dustin Ave., Farmington, New Mexico.
