David Von Noyes

 

June 5, 1949 – July 13, 2021 (age 72)

Our beloved husband, father and grandfather David Von Noyes passed away peacefully at home on July 13, 2021 at the age of 72. He was born on June 5, 1949 in Preston, Idaho, to Von and Donna Noyes.
David was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served as a Sunday School teacher, executive secretary, and bishop. He seldom missed singing in the community choir. He served on missions in the Northern States, and he and Marsha served on missions in Farmington, New Mexico, teaching the seminary and institute on the Navajo Indian Reservation. Most recently, he and Marsha served as pathway missionaries.

He spent many years as a scout leader. He enjoyed teaching the boys about camping, tying knots, and merit badges. He has received many boy scout awards, including the Silver Beaver Award.
He loved to sing. He has appeared in many musical productions at Worm Creek Opera House and sang with his brother Stephen. He loved singing with his family. He was particularly fond of Christmas music. He sang in the Rotary Christmas Choir for over 20 years.

For a short time, David worked for the Franklin County Sheriff’s office and volunteered for the ambulance crew. After working for 20 years, he retired from the Cache County School District as an electrician. He leaves behind his wife, Marsha, and children, Terra Sleight, of Jerome, Idaho; David (Nichole) Noyes of Chubbuck, Idaho; Richard (Marianne) Noyes of Frederick, Colorado; Susan (Brad) Nielsen of Weston, Idaho; Janice (Zachary) Bartschi of Pocatello, Idaho; Jennifer (Josh) Ballard of Lake Point, Utah; Nathaniel (Maggie) Noyes of Saratoga Springs, Utah; 34.75 grandchildren; and his two sisters, Edith Smith, of Preston, Idaho; and Marian Muniz from Harlingen, Texas.

He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Von and Donna Noyes, brother Stephen and sister Diane.

The memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at Preston 3rd Ward Chapel, 155 N. 200 W. Preston, Idaho.

Viewings are available Fridays from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Webb Funeral Home, 1005 p. 800 E. Preston, Idaho and pre-funeral tours from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Church.

The funeral will take place in Preston Cemetery.
