Dolores Kasparek Obituary (1934 – 2022) – Las Cruces, NM

DOLORES (DEE) KASPAREK
It is with great sadness, undying love and heavy heart that we announce the passing of Dolores (Dee) Kasparek, age 88. She was called to heaven to be with our Lord and Savior on September 14, 2022.
Dolores was born on August 16, 1934, in Omaha, NE, and was predeceased by her parents, Earl and Mildred Lucke. She leaves behind to cherish her loving memory Dennis Kasparek, her devoted husband of 66 years; four children, Denise Jaramillo (Lee), Ronald Kasparek (Ruth), Terence Kasparek (Kathy), and Kenneth Kasparek; three grandchildren, Casey Kasparek, Gianna Kasparek, and Lee K. Jaramillo; two great-grandchildren, Leena and Dawson Jaramillo; and her treasured brother, Melvin Lucke.
Dee was known to be a person of great compassion and love, always placing the needs and desires of others before her own. At the same time she was known for her inner strength and devotion to being a role model to her children and their offspring. Dee was very active in all her interests, work, and hobbies. Prior to her recent hospitalization, she was known to take 8,000 to 10,000 steps a day per her Fit bit in the performance of her household and outdoor activities.
She excelled in so many ways and in so many areas. Her hobbies included crocheting beautiful family blankets, scarves, bedspreads, and purses. And she loved to sew, making all sorts of clothing and family keepsakes. She designed and fabricated silk flower arrangements for weddings and other formal occasions. Dee was an excellent cook and found great joy in cooking and baking on holidays and for family celebrations; she was always happy to provide her homemade “travel back home” chocolate chip and pecan cookies to the departing guests.
Dee was known for her spirit of donating her time to the less fortunate. For example, she was engaged in a program that taught recently released parolees how to read. And for many years she and her husband entertained the elderly residents in Las Cruces Nursing Homes with two of their trained Shih Tzu dogs, almost every weekend.
This remarkable woman was especially proud to have been awarded an unsolicited scholarship to New Mexico State University and earned a Degree in Bachelor of Accounting, with honors, and an Associate Degree in Pre-Business, with honors, she received in May, 1986 at the age of 51.
Dee had a deep faith in God, devotion to her church, and absolute love for family. She cherished her dogs which she referred to as her “furry kids”. And she truly enjoyed the many travels she and her husband had taken all over the world.
Services will be held at Our Lady of Purification Church on Friday, September 23, 2022, at 10:00 AM, followed by interment at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Father Martin Cordero will officiate the services. Due to Covid 19, attendees are encouraged to wear face masks. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to your favorite charity in the name of Dee Kasparek.
