EDUVIJEN “DUBE” SANCHEZ NARANJO
Eduvijen “Dube” Sanchez Naranjo passed away at the age of 100 from a stroke at 10:41 am on August 13, 2022, at Christ St. Vincent Regional Medical Center in Santa Fe, New Mexico. She was born on May 1, 1922, in Punta de Agua, New Mexico. She was the eighth child of Ramon Sanchez and Jesusita Sanchez, nee Gonzales. Everyone who had the pleasure of knowing Dube knew that she wore many hats – both literally and figuratively. Her favorite hobbies were crocheting, embroidery, knitting, word searches, baking and tending to the variety of flowers and plants in her yard. She looked forward to her nightly ritual of watching “Jeopardy” and “Wheel of Fortune.” Additionally, she was an active member of the Saint Anne Parish church and bazaar.
She is survived by her daughter, Conchita “Concha” Clokey; her son, Robert Lee Naranjo, and his spouse Tammy; her grandchildren, Jeff Varela and his spouse Annette; James Varela and his wife Susan; Robert M Naranjo; Michelle Naranjo; Kathryn Naranjo; Jennifer Naranjo; Shannon Naranjo; Bruce Naranjo; Mark Naranjo; Matthew Naranjo; her great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; all of her siblings; her son, Hermilo “Milo” Naranjo; her daughter, Eva Howland, her son-in-law Leroy and her granddaughter Jessica; her first husband, John R. Naranjo; her last husband, Anthony “Tony” Summa, and her great granddaughter, Christina Varela.
Funeral services will be held at 10 am on Monday, August 22, 2022, at Saint Anne Parish in Santa Fe, New Mexico. An interment will be held at a later date. Berardinelli Family Funeral Service is handling the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, please donate your time and/or money to the Mary Esther Gonzales Senior Center. Additionally, donations can be made to the American Stroke Association.
Flowers may also be sent before 9:30 am on August 22 to Saint Anne Parish, 511 Alicia Street, Santa Fe, New Mexico 87501. A reception will be held at the church reception hall following the service.
