ALBUQUERQUE, NM (KRQE) – Back and in person, Explora hosts its annual New Year’s Eve party at lunchtime. From balloons and experiments to music and a raffle, the event will get you and your family fit for 2022.

On Friday December 31st, Explora doors open at 10am with fun activities until 2pm. This year’s event offers two indoor balloon drops with 2,022 balloons at noon. In addition, a special guest will help with the countdown to next year, with music, raffle prizes and classic Explora fun.

The event is perfect for families with young children who don’t get up at midnight. Attendees wishing to attend must reserve their spot for the event in advance as walk-ins are not accepted. The event is limited to 800 people for the safety of both staff and visitors.

Explora exhibits will also be open for exploration, including the fan-favorite Shapes of Sound interactive experience. Tickets can now be purchased online with entry prices between $ 6 and $ 10 per person.

Visitors aged two and over must wear a face mask at all times while visiting the museum.

Explora closes at 2 p.m. on December 24th and 31st. The museum is closed on December 25th and January 1st and will reopen on January 2nd, 2022. See explora.us for more information.
