Family fear for life after drive-by shoots

Your home is now riddled with 22 bullet holes. They say they knew of at least five other houses within two miles that were also attacked, but they don’t know exactly who was conducting the shootings.

“The crime in Albuquerque is just absurd,” she said. “It’s out of control and it seems like nothing is being done about it. These criminals are running the streets.”

The family’s surveillance camera caught a silver car last week, but they are still waiting for police to collect the footage as evidence.

“We’re scared, we’re scared for our families, for our neighbors, for the whole community,” she said.

The family went to the Murder Victims Memorial in Albuquerque’s Civic Plaza on Thursday evening to mark the national day. She hopes not to be the next mother to suffer a terrible loss.

“I just want to support these other mothers who went through it and are still going through it,” she said. “You have lost a large part of your life and heart and just what you are.”
