Fourth of July festivities planned for the Albuquerque metro

ALBUQUERQUE, NM — Fourth of July is here and, in the Albuquerque metro, there are events planned but some places are also closed for the holiday.

The Freedom 4th celebration will be taking place at Balloon Fiesta Park. Gates open at 3 p.m., live music begins at 4 p.m. and fireworks start at 9:15 a.m. There were also food trucks, a rock climbing wall and more.

In Rio Rancho, festivities kick off with a parade at 6 p.m., followed by a free concert from the New Mexico Philharmonic at 8 a.m. and fireworks at 9:15 a.m.

If you go out to celebrate and need a ride, Bernalillo County is offering promo code ‘LIBERTY22’ to get $10 off two rides. It is valid July 1-5 and is available for the first 1,000 riders who redeem it.

Albuquerque BioPark’s facilities will be open July 4, as will municipal golf courses and tennis facilities. Trash and recycling will be collected as well.
