Future Legends adds new mentors to guide scholars

The Future Legends Scholarship Program, which selects deserving high school graduates who meet its criteria, recently announced mentors for the three Future Legends scholars selected in 2021. The fellows are paired with mentors who provide advice, support, career insights, and networking. Matching the skills, background and experience of the fellows with the mentors contributed to the success of the program and is reflected in a completion rate of 100 percent.

The three scholars for that year scored a percentage of 4.3 or greater, completed honorary classes, participated in physical and extracurricular activities, and demonstrated leadership skills within their respective high schools and peer groups. Everyone showed initiative, determination, and commitment. The scholars selected in 2021 are Ethan Lee, Caleb Kapusinski and Andrew Knight.

Ethan Lee is studying computer science and is drawn to robotics; He has worked with Brad Galvan, whose background includes 30 years as a federal agent with the US Department of Justice and mentor / advisor to foreign national police forces, helping them develop robust and effective counter-terrorism programs.

Caleb Kapusinski’s mentor is Heather Manion. Manion’s background in business, military, medicine, real estate, and community service fits well with Kapusinski’s current business studies degree at California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo.

Andrew Knight’s interests include business, law, management, and golf. He is mentored by Steve Moreland, whose career spanned 30 years as a radiologist who directed and served on the board of directors of Scripps Memorial Hospital’s radiology division. Moreland has been looked after by colleagues in radiology and wants to give something back. Knight and Moreland share a love for sport and nature and are highly motivated.

The main differentiator of the Future Legends Scholarship Program is the relationship between the scholars and their mentor experience, ”said Vearl Smith, chairman of Future Legends.

Eric Manese, President of Future Legends, said, “Mentor involvement is one of the most critical aspects of our relationship with our fellows. We are grateful to our new mentors Brad, Heather, and Steve for their dedication to these fellows. From our experience over the past 10 years, we know that it will enable you to become future legends. “
