Geraldine “Back” Lee

Geraldine “Geri” Lee died peacefully

November 11th,

Surrounded by family and friends in 2021. she

leaves behind her loving son David Paul Sanchez, sisters Arlene Santillanes, Lydia Gonzales and little brother Andrew Tafoya and wife Kathryn, stepsister Rosalie and husband Danny Sandoval and family, Priscilla Howard and family, stepbrothers Larry and wife Viola Tafoya and family, and many other beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. Geri was preceded by her husband Charley Lee, father and mother Alberto and Alice Montoya, stepfather Nick Tafoya and sister Lorraine Herrera, stepbrothers Herman, Leonard and Bishop Arthur Tafoya. Geri graduated from Our Lady of Sorrows in Bernalillo in 1959. She coached the North Valley Girls’ softball team and was very active with the North Valley Optimist Club, which organized the Albuquerque Toy Run and food distribution for many years. Geri worked at SIC Finance, Ford Motor Credit and retired as a Farmers Insurance Agent. After retirement

worked for the Scottfamlly who ran the Wonder Bread Hostess Thrift Shop (her favorite job). Later she joined the senior center,

was a volunteer bingo caller and made a new group of special friends. she

loved the outdoors, traveling, eating out and playing in the casinos. She was happiest with family and friends.

Pallbearers: “Spinner Girls”, Dori, Velma, Toni, Kookie, Alice, Bernice; volunteer pallbearers: Melissa, Ruby, Janice, Gina, Teri, Janice and Elaine; God sons Danny Santillanes, Steven Kitts; God daughter Ester Maestas.

The rosary will take place on Tuesday, December 14th, 2021, 8:00 a.m., service on Tuesday, December 14th, 2021, 9:00 a.m.
