Obituary for Gilberto Ernesto Herrera
Gilberto Ernesto Herrera, 78, from Santa Fe New Mexico, passed away peacefully with his family on November 1, 2021. A family oriented man and a popular member of the community. Gilberto leaves behind the mother of his children, Patsy T. Herrera of Santa Fe, daughter Sandie D. Herrera and grandson James B. Herrera. Brother Charles P. Herrera, wife of late brother William Nancy Herrera, daughter Melissa Herrera-Brown, and many nieces and nephews. Gilberto passes in death his mother Delfina G. Herrera from Albuquerque, Father Joe C. Herrera and son Ronald P. Herrera, brother William C. Herrera from California, very respected and beloved Uncle Julio Sisneros, and Aunt Louisa (Nana). Gilberto is known for his love of bowling, for his “bike rides” on his motorcycle, for fishing as well as for his time in the city center in the plaza and for socializing.
He retired from the Human Services Department of New Mexico State and loved his part-time job at the Santa Fe Opera.
Gilberto E. Herrera, with a heart of gold, is greatly missed by his family and friends.
