I-40 west of Albuquerque closed due to a fatal accident involving a single vehicle

ALBUQUERQUE, NM (KRQE) – The community honors the life of the Albuquerque man who was killed in a quadruple shootout at an uptown cantina earlier this month. People gathered on Sunday to raise money for Lawrence Anzures’ family at a celebration of life. Anzures’ coworkers and friends organized the fundraiser in the Auto Station in front of Lomas and Louisiana.

Witnesses to the shooting told police Anzures and another man went near the entrance to the restaurant and hit 22-year-old Javier Vargas Vasquez, who was drinking a shot that was not his. At the time, witnesses said Vargas-Vasquez drew a gun and started shooting – killing Anzures and injuring several others, including bystanders.
