In-Person Gold Bar Set for April 29
The APS Education Foundation’s signature event celebrates some of the best in Albuquerque Public Schools while raising funds for educator-led innovation.
Tickets are going fast for the event at Sandia Resort & Casino on Friday, April 29.
At each Gold Bar, guests are introduced to the Selfless Seniors, Hall of Honor inductees, an Outstanding Corporate Partner, and Best in Class award nominees.
The event recognizes the 2022 Selfless Seniors, students who have given back to their schools and communities through acts of service. Selfless Seniors represent the philanthropic spirit of the APS student body and inspire the community at large to look outside themselves, help those less fortunate, and champion a cause.
Hall of Honour
The Gold Bar Gala is also where the Foundation formally inducts two outstanding educators who left a legacy with the district into the APS Hall of Honor. This year, Helen Fox and Ruthie Owens will be inducted, and guests will learn about their profound impact on education in Albuquerque.
Outstanding Corporate Partners
The Foundation will recognize Comcast as their Outstanding Corporate Partner.
best in class
The event culminates in the announcement of the 2022 Best In Class Winner. Best In Class nominees are grantees that have implemented successful programs funded by the donors of the APS Education Foundation. Additional funding is available to grow these programs so more students can benefit from the opportunities these programs provide. The Best In Class Winner is decided by a community vote and will receive $15,000 in funding to grow their innovative program. This year’s nominees are programs from Eisenhower Middle School, Garfield Middle School, and Sandia High School.
Don’t miss out on a night to remember as students, educators, and partners are honored for their contribution to the APS community.
