Both the Las Cruces and Mayfield High Football Teams won their opening round games in the New Mexico state playoffs and advance to the second round.
In the 6A playoffs, fifth-placed Las Cruces No. 12 Clovis 42-7 on Saturday November 6th at the Field of Dreams.
The Bulldawgs, 6-4 in total, will now face No. 4 of the seeded Centennial, 8-1, on Friday, November 12th at 7:00 p.m. in the Field of Dreams.
The two teams met earlier this year, with Centennial winning 42-41. Centennial had a first round goodbye.
In 5A, No. 5 Mayfield, 7-4, beat No. 12 Los Alamos 49-3 Friday November 5th at the Field of Dreams. Mayfield will meet No. 4 Artesia.
