Las Cruces teenager charged with adult murder, detained without attachment

Mawu Revels, 17, of Las Cruces, was held without bond in the Doña Ana District Third District Court. Revels is charged by the grand jury with the death of Nicodemus Gonzales as an adult. Revel is charged with first-degree murder (willful and willful), 1 point first-degree murder – conspiracy, 2 points heavy attack (deadly weapon), 1 point heavy attack conspiracy, 2 points shooting at or from a motor vehicle (no major bodily harm ). District Court Judge Jaquez ruled Revels was dangerous and that no release terms could adequately protect the safety of the community. Revels will remain in the Doña Ana County Detention Center.

On Saturday, July 31, officers were sent to shots at a noisy party on the 1800 block of Chaparro Street. The officers arrived at the scene and found Nicodemus Gonzales with a gunshot wound, he was declared dead at the scene. Two suspects were arrested; Isaiah James William Taylor and Mawu Revels, both are being detained until trial.
