The traffic light upgrade will begin Wednesday evening (October 13) at 8 p.m. and will continue through Thursday (October 14) at 6 a.m. on University Avenue and Jordan Road. Work will resume on Thursday evening (October 14th) at 8pm and continue until Friday (October 15th) at 6am.
Road closures may be necessary from time to time. During the work, temporary stop signs will be put up at all four entrances at night as the traffic lights will be switched off. Surrounding shops and apartments remain accessible. Roadrunner transit routes are not affected. The city has proven that no contradicting public or private construction projects take place in the immediate vicinity during this time. The work will take place in District 2 of Las Cruces.
Motorists are asked to be careful around the area or to take an alternate route to avoid possible delays as the work could affect traffic in all directions along the university and in Jordan.
