MARTHA COOPER obituary (1954 – 2021) – San Antonio, TX

Martha Wynne Cooper, beloved mother, sister and grandmother, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, December 20, 2021 at the age of 67 in San Antonio, TX.

She was born on June 18, 1954 in Farmington, New Mexico. Martha graduated from Alamo Heights HS. She then traveled to Seville, Spain, where she worked and lived for 25 years, where she married Juan Carlos Pretel, the father of Martha and Maria.

She was a member of the Battle of Flowers Foundation and a subsidiary of the Republic of Texas. She loved spending time with her daughters and grandson, helping others, and reading history books.

Survived by daughters Martha Elizabeth Barron and Maria Esther Escobedo, grandson Charles Cooper Barron, sister Betsy D’Amato and husband William; Son-in-law Edward Barron and Victor Escobedo. The death was preceded by her parents, Jack and Bettie Cooper, and her brother, Marshall Cooper.

The service will be held on Friday, January 21, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at the San Fernando Cathedral 115 Main Plaza. After service burial ceremony at Sunset Memorial Park 1701 Austin Highway. A reception follows at the Old San Francisco Steakhouse 10223 Sahara.
