Michael (Mike) Edward Ary, 69
1952-2022

Mike passed away on Thursday February 10th, 2022, in Las Cruses, NM losing his battle to kidney disease. There will be a celebration of life held in Roswell, NM at The Elks on March 26th from 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM. Family and Friends are welcome to say something in remembering Mike at his celebration of life or as he called it, “His Going Away Party”.

Mike was born to Ed & Clara Ary in Needmore, TX on March 11th, 1952. Mike grew up in west Texas and graduated from Bula High School in Bula, TX. Mike moved to Roswell, NM where he was a Reserve Deputy Sheriff. He was happiest when he was working on the Corn ranch. Mike spent many years ranching and lived his life doing what he loved. Later in life Mike moved to Cimarron, NM where he fulfilled his dream and bought his own farm. He spent several years there working and providing for his family. In his final years Mike moved to Las Cruces, NM, then on to Array, NM where he would retire.

Mike loved his family more than anything in the world. He was very proud of his children and all they have accomplished, but most importantly, his grandchildren were the light of his life. He lived his life his way. He loved to dance and would dance anywhere that had a space. He never met a stranger and would talk to everyone, even if they didn’t want to talk back. He loved Christmas and decorating everything he could put a light on. He loved sitting outside grilling on his griddle and listening to music (George Strait to be exact). But he would listen to anything that had a beat.

Mike will be missed greatly by a multitude of family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ed & Clara Ary, daughters Kandi Ary & Sheyene Ary, five brothers, Ron Ary, Charles Ary, Harvey Ary, Kenneth Ary and Larry Don Ary. He is survived by Beverly Ary of Las Cruces, NM who stayed by his side till his passing. His son Tim Ary of Cody, WY, daughter Christi Hicks of Roswell, NM, son Shawn Mitchell of Maxwell, NM, son Eric Mitchell of Phoenix, AZ and Tiana Mitchell of Las Cruces, NM. He is also survived by his Sister Shirly Sanchez and her husband Eliver of McKinney, TX. Eleven grandchildren: Kiley Ary, Kadie Ary, Marcus Ary Hicks, John Hicks, Jason Hicks, Rylan Hicks, Thomas Mitchell, Sheyene Mitchell, Toby Mitchell, Jaxson Mitchell, Lincoln Mitchell and a multitude of nieces, nephews and cousins ​​who will miss him greatly .

We love you and miss you Dad, Papa or as everyone said Uncle Mike.
