LifeSpire of Virginia Hires New COO

LifeSpire of Virginia has selected Tracey Jennings as the organization’s new COO.

In her new role, effective November 30th, Jennings will manage the day-to-day operations of the five LifeSpire communities while managing operating budgets, policies and procedures, and relationships with key suppliers.

Jennings has more than 20 years of senior living and healthcare leadership experience, most recently at Centra Health. Previously, she was also the COO of Bedford Memorial Hospital.

CarDon appoints new CEO

CarDon & Associates announced the appointment of Kent Rodgers as the company’s new President and CEO. He started his new role on October 4th.

Rodgers succeeds Dr. Stephen Moore, who has served as CEO since 2000 and will now serve on the company’s Board of Directors and Executive Committee.

Rodgers first joined CarDon in 2006 as CFO.

Saint Therese appoints COO

Saint Therese has appointed Lisa Kalla as the new COO of the non-profit organization.

In her new role, Kalla will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the organization. Kalla joined Saint Therese in 2021 when she began working as an Executive Director at Saint Therese of New Hope in New Hope, Minnesota.

Kalla previously worked as Associate Vice President of Healthcare at Covenant Living and as Executive Director for Carondelet Village in St. Paul.

ISL appoints regional sales and marketing VPs

Integral Senior Living (ISL) recently promoted Heather Haley and Tina Schachter to Regional Vice President of Sales and Marketing.

In her new role, Haley will be responsible for managing the company’s customer relationship management tools and other supplier relationships. She is also charged with directing the company’s social media and branding efforts and overseeing marketing for communities in Tennessee, Texas, Oklahoma, Colorado, Utah, and Georgia.

Schachter is responsible for the management and training of community teams in the USA and helps with the planning and implementation of major events in ISL communities.

Schacter first joined ISL in 2019 while Haley joined the company in 2016.

Cadence Living Appoints Vice President, Health and Wellness, Strengthens Corporate Team

Cadence Living has named Alan Graza as vice president, health and wellness; Christmas Brown in the role of Director of Holidays and Compliance; and Mark Buckley as a furnishing specialist.

Graza joins the operator after serving in regional health services for both Oakmont Senior Living and Westmont Senior Living.

As the director of vacation and compliance, Brown’s role includes performing risk management for the operator’s portfolio, including licensing compliance, employee compensation, vacation policies, and policy review. She previously worked for Frontier Management.

And Buckley is returning to Cadence as a facility specialist. Previously, he worked for the operator in facility management for a community in California. After a stint at MBK Senior Living, he comes to the operator.

Presbyterian Senior Living Announces New VPs for Purposeful Living, Technology, Operations

Presbyterian Senior Living (PSL) has promoted three employees to new roles: Alicia Fenstermacher to Vice President of Purposeful Living; Bruce Shearer as Vice President, Technology; and Bob Etchells as Regional Vice President of Operations.

As VP of Purposeful Living, Fenstermacher is responsible for the quality of life of residents and employees and for ensuring that stakeholders can participate in program development and evaluation. She has been with PSL for more than 16 years.

Shearer will coordinate the development of PSL’s technology strategy and systems and ensure that it is aligned with the organization’s overall goals and plans. He will also serve as the organization’s chief information security officer. Most recently, he held the title of Corporate Director of Technology.

As the regional VP of Operations, Etchells is responsible for implementing the PSL strategies for nursing, CCRC, HCBS and assisted living / personal care. He has been in the healthcare sector for more than 30 years.

Springpoint communities welcome new leaders

Springpoint has appointed Melissa Dominguez to lead nursing at Springpoint Living in Manalapan, a community due to open in Manalapan, New Jersey later this year.

As the Director of Nursing, Dominguez is responsible for nursing staff oversight, clinical oversight, training, patient care, and administrative functions.

The company also named Roy David as the new assistant manager / administrator of The Oaks at Denville, a Denville, New Jersey life plan community. Its task is to supervise assisted living and qualified care in the community.

He has more than 15 years of experience in elderly care and previously worked as an administrator on campus in 2006.

The Springs Living Appoints Director of Quality and Special Projects

The Springs Living has named Ashley Schulze as Director of Quality and Special Projects.

In her new role, Schulze oversees the opening and stabilization of communities, the quality of on-site visits, system development and the optimization of operating technology.

Schulze was previously the Executive Director of The Springs at Greer Gardens in Eugene, Oregon.

Kölsch communities appoint new leaders in two Texan communities

Kölsch Communities has named Quentin Zambeck as Executive Director of the Riverside Inn in Fort Worth, Texas; and Jamie Althaus as Managing Director of Meadowbrook Memory Care.

Both leaders will oversee the day-to-day running of their communities. Althaus takes over for Zambeck, who previously worked as managing director at Meadowbrook.

Erickson Senior Living Appoints Continuing Care Director at Maryland CCRC

Eric Grimmel is now the Director of Continuous Care at Oak Crest, an Erickson Senior Living Continuous Care Community (CCRC) in Parkville, Maryland.

Grimmel will now oversee the daily clinical services and maintain the quality of care. He has more than 15 years of experience in senior living.

The company has also appointed Kate Van Atta as director of human resources for Windsor Run, a CCRC in Charlotte, North Carolina. In her new role, she will oversee the day-to-day human resources operations of the community and focus on employee recruitment and engagement.

Anthem Memory Care has named Jennifer Davidson director of Chelsea, an Anthem Memory Care community in Aurora, Colorado; Allison Rackow as community relations director for Emerald Place in Glenview, Illinois; and Adrianne Brouckaert as Community Relations Director for Vineyard Place in Murrieta, California.

In her new role, Davidson will oversee day-to-day maintenance, programming and operations; while Rackow and Brouckaert are responsible for public relations and marketing.

Rackow spent about nine years in the senior housing industry and Brouckaert worked in it for about 10 years. Davidson has been in the industry for about two decades.

WellAge Appoints Director of Sales and Marketing for Colorado Community

WellAge has named Laura Hale as director of sales and marketing for Jackson Creek Senior Living, a senior living community she manages in Monument, Colorado.

She previously worked at Jackson Creek as a move-in coordinator and sales rep, and began her career in the senior living space about nine years ago.

Mission Senior Living hires a sales and marketing director for the New Mexico Community

Mission Senior Living has named Jessica Sharer as director of sales and marketing at Three Rivers Estates Senior Living and Memory Care, a Farmington, New Mexico community due to open in 2022.

In her new role, Sharer will lead marketing, sales and public relations, helping older adults and their loved ones make informed decisions about their housing options in old age.

Sharer previously served as a branch manager for Wells Fargo.

Bellwether hires SVP of Senior Housing and Care

Bellwether Enterprise has hired Kim Huffstutler as Senior Vice President, Senior Housing and Care.

In her new role, Huffstutler will be responsible for debt and equity placements for the company’s national senior housing group. She brings over 12 years of commercial mortgage banking experience.

Capital Funding Group appoints leading multi-family and senior residential real estate finance companies

The Capital Funding Group promoted Erik Howard to Executive Managing Director, Business Development and Marketing. In his new role, he will lead the company’s new multi-family and senior residential real estate finance businesses.

The organization also appointed Ken Assiran to lead its senior housing loan platform; hired Elizabeth Buckalew to direct his multi-family efforts; and promoted Craig Casagrande and Tim Eberhardt to co-lead his long-term care business development group.

McAlpine Contracting Appoints Director of Construction

McAlpine Contracting, a general contractor and construction management company specializing in senior housing communities, has promoted Mark Montalvo to site manager. Before that he worked as a senior project manager.

In his new role, Montalvo is responsible for overseeing the company’s northeast projects, including managing estimates and quotations, project logistics, construction activities and finalization. He will also oversee site staff and interact with customers.
