New Mexico man killed in crash on SH 158

DPS says the driver failed to control his speed and collided with the back of a trailer ahead of him.

MIDLAND COUNTY, Texas — One person is dead following a three-vehicle crash in Midland County.

According to DPS, the crash happened just before 5:30 pm on Sept. 27.

Juvencio Juarez-Marquez, 37, of Farmington, New Mexico was driving a truck east on SH 158.

Another truck towing a trailer was also traveling eastbound ahead of Juarez-Marquez.

That driver was attempting to turn onto East CR 160 when Juarez-Marquez failed to control his speed and collided with the trailer.

This caused the trailer, which was transporting a skid-steer loader, to land in the westbound lanes of SH 158.

A semi-truck traveling westbound collided with the loader.

Neither the driver of the second truck nor the semi-truck driver were injured.

Juarez-Marquez was taken to Midland Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

At this time no further information is available on the crash. DPS is still investigating.
