Multiple recipients are expected. They are selected by a panel of FOG directors. The winners of the Dixon Award will be announced in September with a virtual award ceremony on October 7th.

“The Dixon Awards draw attention to and recognize those who drive the cause of open government in New Mexico,” said Kathi Bearden, chair of the FOG Dixon Awards committee, in a statement. “It is important, especially since we come from a time that can only be classified as unusual, to recognize and honor the committed New Mexicans who represent Open Government in action.”

The award is named after the late William S. Dixon, a First Amendment supporter and FOG co-founder.

To nominate an individual or organization, visit the FOG website at nmfog.org/events for the requirements.
