patrick

He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Karen Jo Brown and brother RL Butler. He is survived by his wife Gail Torino, his son Shaun Thomas Butler and his wife Jennifer, son Timothy Joseph Butler, and stepdaughter Felicia Jean Davidson and her husband Christopher and grandsons Hayden and Henry. He is also survived by three sisters, Betty Kelly and her husband Ed, Glenda Hawkins, Kerry Zesiger and brother Thomas Butler and many other family members.

He attended elementary, junior high and high school in Albuquerque, NM. Pat enlisted in the US Marine Corp in 1973 and spent most of his service as an Embassy Marine Security Guard at the American Embassy in Nassau, Bahamas. He was honorably discharged as a Sergeant in 1977. He graduated from The University of New Mexico with a Bachelors in University Studies in 1982.

He worked at Wells Fargo Bank managing the real estate trust department, retiring after 25 years as a Vice President.

He was a lifelong Green Bay Packer fan and had the opportunity to attend a Sunday night game at Lambeau Field last year with his son Timothy. After more than 2 decades of not being in the cockpit, Pat revived his love of flying by re-qualifying as a private pilot. He was constantly busy with projects, and he especially loved working with wood. He enjoyed running, hiking, cycling, and riding his Harley. He and Gail also enjoyed spending time at “Sandy Bottom,” their getaway house at Elephant Butte Lake.

Pat was an active judo member for 15 years with both of his boys and obtained the honor of Shodan alongside his eldest son Shaun. He had a love for all things water. He and his family shared many scuba diving adventures and loved to take his boat out on the water. Pat and his son Shaun are both Master Divers.

Pat’s life revolved around his kids and family. He was an extremely dedicated father who regularly volunteered for school functions, sporting events and he participated in the PTA. He always made sure that his kids knew just how much they were loved, even if it meant painting a room, helping with a fence, fixing bicycles, or building furniture.

He never let moss grow under his feet; he was a lifelong learner.
