Police investigate fatal Saturday night pedestrian crash

LAS CRUCES – Las Cruces police responded to the intersection of Espina Street and Idaho Avenue shortly before 8 pm Saturday night after receiving multiple calls about a vehicle striking a pedestrian in the area.

A male pedestrian in his 50s was transported to MountainView Regional Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Police are looking for a dark-colored, older model SUV, which reportedly fled the scene following the crash. Anyone with information is asked to call the Las Cruces Police Department at 575-526-0795.
