Jan. 12, 2022 – Earlier this week, Santa Fe College President Paul Broadie II, Ph.D., took East Gainesville community and faith leader on a tour of the soon-to-be-completed Blount Hall in downtown Gainesville. Led by Blount project manager Freedhengton Joseph and supported by Dr. Karen Cole Smith, SF Executive Director of Special Project in Student Affairs, taught the believing leaders more about President Broadie’s vision for the new facility and how it will affect the church.
President Broadie and members of the community hear an update on the Blount Hall Expansion.
When completed later this spring, the 87,366 square foot facility will offer associate degrees and programs to undergraduate students while creating a convenient, accessible space for underserved communities for whom a trip to the Northwest Campus could affect their ability to get a college education to acquire.
On the tour, Dr. Broadie advised that while Blount Hall will be a beacon of hope for many in the ward, the college relies on pastors to have a share in referring prospective students to SF for certificates, degrees, and entrepreneurship opportunities.
“The denomination and Santa Fe College have united in our commitment to empowering the community and introducing individuals to the wide range of educational opportunities available,” said Dr. Broadie. “Our longstanding relationship, spanning more than 20 years, has and will familiarize countless people with the power of education as we continue to transform their lives. I would like to thank the members of the East Gainesville Initiative for their unwavering commitment and focus. ”
Santa Fe College is now enrolling for Spring G, which begins February 7th. Information on enrollment can be found at sfcollege.edu/admissions.
