Cruz stops her search to find three people who have been seen inside a Russian arroyo. We start live tonight with Action Seven news reporter John Cardinali where they checked that things have calmed down here at the Arroyo. Because the recovery efforts for these three people were stopped tonight due to the darkness. Cruz left here around 8:30 a.m. tonight. But when we were out here before, it was very active. There were three rescue boats out there looking for these three people, as well as dozens of rescue workers. Today we spoke to Tom Ruiz today. He’s with the Albuquerque Fire Department. He tells us that the water rushes through here around 5:00 a.m. today, with some of the deepest and fastest flowing waters he has ever seen in the Arroyo. Three people swept away in Albuquerque are Arroyo. After water was up to 12 feet deep, it went through the canal. We are now looking for possibly three victims in the water. It was reported early on that a victim was seen face down near Morningside and Cutler had several agencies responding, including a PDA FB CSO and BCFD Um, the amount of water that was in the flood canal this afternoon could possibly be be one of the deepest and fastest moving waters I’ve seen crews line up in multiple locations in the Arroyo system but saw no one walk by. So they pulled to the end of the line and switched from a rescue to a salvage mission when the water washes out of the flood canal, that’s what matters. So at this point, um, if there are victims in the water, um, and unfortunately, um, they should get to the amount of water they will have under the surface. A reminder that when there is a storm it is a good idea to stay away from the Arroyo. The storm today was fast paced. It came in and then it went again, but what it left behind was some fast moving water in the flood canal this afternoon. Unfortunately, some people fell victim to it. And again tonight the search will stop here because it’s just too dark out here to look for these three people. Ruiz informs us that they will continue their search and recovery tomorrow morning and report live in Albuquerque. I’m John Cardinali for Ko 80 Action Seven News. There have been reports a victim made it out of the Royal, but Ruiz couldn’t confirm this. He says they’re still looking for three people. Okay right WE HAVE PROVISIONS ABOUT WHAT THE WATER RISES. CREWS SPPTOTE THEIR SEARCH FOR THREE PEOPLE IN A RACING ARRO.YO JOHN: IT’S CALM IN THE ARROYO AS THE DARKNESS EXPOSED THE RESTORATION EFFORTS OF THE THREE PEOPLE. CREWS STAY AROUND – BUT WHEN WE WERE HERE, IT WAS ACTIVE. THERE WERE THREE RESCUE BOATS THE THREE PEOPLE AND THOUSANDS OF OUR OPERATORS ARE LOOKING FOR. WE PREVIOUSLY TALKED TO TOM RUIZ WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF ALBUQUERQUE FEIR TELLING US TODAY AT 5:00 AM ONE OF THE DEEP AND FASTEST MOVING WATERS HE HAS SEEN IN THE T ARROYO. PEOPLE HAVE BEEN SWEPT AWAY IN THE ARROYO AFTER THE WATER IS DEEP IT IS 12 FEET THE WAY THROUGH THE CANAL. TOM: WE ARE LOONGKI FOR THREE VICTIMS IN THE WATER. IT HAS BEEN REPORTED THAT A SACRIFICE HAS BEEN SEEN THAT SHE’S PARTLY SODUN NEAR MORNINGSIDE. ENT: APD, AFR, THE CSO AND BCF RELAXED. LT. RUIZ: THE AMOUNT OF WATER COULD BE THE DEEPEST AND FASTEST MOVING WATER I HAVE SEEN A. JO: HN CREW SET UP THE ARROYO SYSTEM WITHOUT SEEING ANYONE. YOU MOVE TO THE END OF THE LINE AND SWITCH FROM A RESCUE MISSION TO A RECOVERY MISSION. .LT RZ: UI IF THE WATER LEASES, IT COMES HERE. AT THIS POINT, IF THERE ARE VICTIMS IN THE WATER AND YOU SORRY TO COME ON THE AMOUNT OF WATER, THE SURFACE WILL BE INDIVIDUALLY. JOHN: IF H IS STORMING, AWAY FROM THE ARROYO. LT. RUIZ: TODAY the storm came in and left, but what was left was fast flowing water in the flood channel. SORRY, SOME FAULTS WERE VICTIMS. JOHN: SEARCH EFFTSOR AGAIN TODAY, BECAUSE IT’S ONLY TOO DARK TO SEE THE THREE PEOPLE. YOU WILL CONTINUE YOUR SEARCH AND RECOVERY TOMORROW TOMORROW. VELI IN ALBUQUERQUE, JOHN CARTER NELLY FOR KOAT ACTION 7 NEWS. DO: UG ONE VICTIM BUT HAD IT OUT
