Roswell Woman’s Club Gives Back To Students, Nonprofit Groups

Excitement was in the air at Jeffords Hall of St. David’s Episcopal Church as the Roswell Woman’s Club hosted its annual Gift Disbursement/Awards Ceremony.

The ceremony serves as the culmination of the annual fundraising efforts conducted by the Roswell Woman’s Club.

Sharon Lowry, 2014-2015 president, welcomed approximately 80 guests to the event.

Grants were distributed to the following North Fulton nonprofit organizations: Chattahoochee Nature Center, Child Development Center, EnAble of Georgia, Every Woman Works, Foster Care Support Foundation, Georgia Ensemble Theater, Groveway Community Group, Habitat for Humanity, HomeStretch, “Just” People , Lekotek of Georgia, North Fulton Community Charities, Project LIFT, Roswell Historical Society, Senior Services North Fulton, STAR House Foundation and The Drake House.

In addition, scholarships in the amount of $1,200 each were granted to 18 graduating seniors from Alpharetta High School, Blessed Trinity Catholic High School, Johns Creek High School, Northview High School, Roswell High School and The Cottage School.

Five special education project grants were awarded to the Amana Academy, Hembree Springs Elementary, Independence High School, Roswell High School and Roswell North Elementary.

Approximately $50,000 was given back to the North Fulton community by the Roswell Woman’s Club this year. This raises the total to $2 million dollars distributed to the North Fulton Community over the past 18 years.
