Samuel R. “Bob” Tepsich Jr., 79, of Wampum, formerly Chewton, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at his home.
He was born in Ellwood City on April 7, 1942 to the late Samuel and Katherine (Kry-stynski) Tepich Sr.
He was preceded in death by his 42-year-old wife, Barbara K. (Piersol) Teplich, when she passed away on August 8, 2019.
In his younger years he was stationed in Germany while serving in the US Army.
He spent nearly 50 years as a steelworker at B&W and Koppel Steel, where he retired.
A keen outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing and hunting. Sam spent many days fishing with his “camp family” in Pymatuning.
He loved cooking, especially frying fresh fish he caught and preparing family meals with his sister Rosemary.
Some of his other interests were gardening and NASCAR. But most of all he valued his time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandson.
Survivors include his daughter Karen Engle of Shenango Township; son, Robert (Rose) Teplich of Center Township; four grandchildren, Kelsey Houk, Lucy and Sammy Tepsich and Lily Kennedy; a great-grandson, Jaxson Sada; and two sisters, Donna Stolfa of Farmington, New Mexico, and Rosemary (Jerry) Spielvogel of Ellwood City.
Visiting hours will be Wednesday, January 26, 2022 from 4 to 6 p.m. followed by a blessing service at 6 p.m. at the Marshall Funeral Home, 341 Main St. Wampum. Military rites are observed by the Veterans’ Honor Guard.
Burial will be at Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.
The family is asking for a donation to a charity of their choice in lieu of flowers.
