Santa Fe couple dies in Illonois plane crash

A Santa Fe couple died in a small aircraft crash in Hanna City, Illinois. The crash happened on Farmington Road as the aircraft descended. The plane missed vehicles in the roadway until it eventually crashed into a building. The pilot James Evanson was found conscious on the scene by first responders. However, he died once he was removed from the plane. The autopsy revealed he experienced several blunt force trauma injuries. The passenger was his wife Lisa Evanson. She was found dead at the scene and autopsy revealed she died instantly from the impact due to blunt force trauma injuries. Peoria County Sherriff’s Office and Illinois State Police responded to the scene. The investigation is ongoing and being conducted by the National Transportation Safety Board.
