Application for federal financial aid has been opened

The free application for State Student Aid (FAFSA) went online on October 1st.

The application collects financial information and determines eligibility of current and prospective college students for federal scholarships, scholarships, dual study programs, loans, and other sources of funding for the school.

The New Mexico Educational Assistance Foundation is offering a monthly drawing of $ 500 scholarships and prizes for students who attend a virtual workshop to complete the application.

The board of directors of Santa Fe Public Schools will meet on Thursday

The Santa Fe School Board will have a virtual regular meeting on Thursday at 5:30 p.m.

GED online preparatory courses open for registration

Adults keen to earn their high school equivalency degrees can enroll for online prep courses at Santa Fe Community College until October 11th.

Classes begin online on October 25th and are available in the morning, afternoon, or evening. Spanish classes are offered in the mornings, evenings, and Saturdays.

A four-day orientation for students begins on October 14th and is offered from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. or from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Orientation allows students to meet with counselors, register for courses, and develop a learning plan.

Scholarship application open to high school graduates

Applications for the Daniels Scholarship Program are open now for high school graduates in New Mexico through November 12 at 4:00 p.m. CET.

The Daniels Scholarship is a four-year college scholarship that pays up to $ 25,000 per year towards a student’s education, depending on their financial position, existing support, and school chosen.

The scholarship is only available to students whose legal guardians have an adjusted gross income of $ 85,000 or less on their 2020 tax return. Applicants must graduate in the school year 2021/22.
