Soccer-Corinthians win Libertadores title against Santa Fe | The Mighty 790 KFGO

MONTEVIDEO (Reuters) – Corinthians won the women’s Copa Libertadores on Sunday, beating Colombian side Santa Fe 2-0, becoming only the second team in the history of the tournament to win the most important club competition in South America three times.

Adriana and Gabi Portilho scored goals in the first half to secure the title for the Brazilian club who had previously won the Cup in 2017 and 2019.

Corinthians won the title on a 100% record after winning all three group stages and recording victories in the quarter-finals and semi-finals.

They conceded just two goals and scored 24 goals, including an 8-0 win over Uruguayan side Nacional in the semifinals.

16 teams took part in the tournament, the South American equivalent of the Champions League. Ten of the 13 winners are from Brazil.
