While the crews were there, authorities said Ferguson went to another nearby dumpster in the Central area and set it on fire. Then another dumpster in the parking lot of Garcia’s Kitchen. The last place a fire was started was Café Laurel, also on Central. However, the extent of this damage was far more severe. The heat broke windows and caused serious damage to the roof. According to Ferguson’s affidavit, the damage is estimated at $ 35,000.
In the same affidavit, police say Ferguson was responsible for other fires, including the one in downtown Albuquerque and the recent one along the Bosque. Ferguson was arrested for questioning but released for lack of probable reasons.
