Ledes from the Land of Enchantment

Taste of Las Cruces returns this week with over 20 participating restaurants

LAS CRUCES – The 14th Taste of Las Cruces will return Thursday with over 20 local restaurants bringing some of their signature dishes to benefit Casa de Peregrinos’ mission of ending hunger.

Rotary Clubs of Las Cruces will host the event beginning at 6 pm May 12 at the Las Cruces Convention Center. All kinds of local restaurants and eateries will be set up offering attendees a taste of their signature items, highlighting what makes Las Cruces cuisine so special.

This will be a return of the popular event as it has been on hiatus since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. It will be a celebration of the food industry as well as a community effort to help end food insecurity in Doña Ana County. Over the years, the event has raised money for half a million meals.

Tickets are $50 online at tasteoflascruces.com. Money raised at the event will go to Casa de Peregrino’s Emergency Food Program. People can also sponsor tables at the event online. Organizers said there will also be entertainment, a silent auction and raffles Thursday.
