The pandemic has complicated events for many people who want to celebrate life’s milestones.

The founder of a new event center in Albuquerque is hoping to alleviate some of these complications by adding a new venue to the menu.

The Enchanted Falls Event Center at 3771 NM Highway 528 opened in early August.

Owner Ben Hernandez said the idea of opening a convention center came from the closure of similar venues during the pandemic.

“We saw an opportunity and a need and jumped on it,” he said.

Hernandez is no newbie when it comes to events, however.

After retiring in the mid-2000s, Hernandez returned to New Mexico and shortly before starting Lucky Boyz Limousine, All American Limo, and AA Events and Tents.

Although Hernandez has been in the events business for more than a decade, he said the new event center is the first time he has had a permanent space to host events.

“It just fits in with our job, I’ve just never done it in a building we lived in,” he said.

Hernandez said the event center is a “one-stop shop” in that it has everything needed to host an event, from cutlery to decorations to transportation by the limo companies.

The venue, which previously operated as the Falls Restaurant, has an artificial waterfall, an outdoor area with a gazebo, a fully stocked bar and space for events for around 400 people.

While the event center is open for bookings, Hernandez said it was “a work in progress”.

He said he was still working on getting the kitchen fully functional so the center could provide catering as an option for events, but events can be held without using the in-house catering services.

The Enchanted Falls Event Center can be rented any day of the week and can be rented by the hour or for a full day.
