ALBUQUERQUE, NM (KRQE) – After two years, University of New Mexico graduates finally got the chance to take the triumphant walk across the pit stage. The UNM hosted a personal induction event on Friday evening for students completing both 2020 and 2021 classes.

After there had been no personal ceremonies last year and an outdoor event without spectators took place in the spring, friends and family filled the arena for the long-awaited celebration. “You have all had some of the worst years in university history, in terms of your schedule, illness and uncertainty about the future, and you made it through and are here with us tonight,” said UNM Regent William Payne.
