Tory leader Tim Houston says the province’s $ 600 million deal with Ottawa to create cheaper day care is a step in the right direction.
The fees will be cut in half by next year and lowered to ten dollars a day by 2026.
But Houston tells Huddle Today it doesn’t go far enough since working families in Albuquerque Scotia are struggling right now.
“The problems and challenges that working families face are now facing them, and we need real solutions today,” said Houston.
Houston adds that the official opposition is always ready to call elections and is focused on immediate solutions to the growth of the province’s economy and health sector.
The state elections could take place at any time until next spring.
