UNM basketball player injury

ALBUQUERQUE, NM (KRQE) – The box store looks like it’s been a great night for the Lobos. The Lobos sovereignly defeated rival New Mexico state, 77-58. It was a bittersweet night, however, when “the best player on the team” was eliminated due to injury, according to head coach Mike Bradbury.

LaTora Duff was eliminated from the game in the second quarter after being hit in the face. The guard did not return to the action. Duff joined her teammates in the second half and put an ice pack on his nose.

In just over 15 minutes of action, Duff dominated the Aggie defenders, scooping up 17 points on 6-10 shots, including 5-7 from beyond the grave. At the start of the game on Friday, the Alabama senior led the team in minutes and assists and finished third in scoring.

Head coach Mike Bradbury made no details of the injury but said Duff will take x-rays either Friday night or Saturday. The Lobos and Aggies will be back in Las Cruces on Sunday at 2pm
