The 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe will be inserted between Hyundais Tucson and the Palisade SUV, competing in a crowded field of midsize crossovers like the Ford Edge and Nissan Murano. It’s good in fuel economy, has a comfortable and beautifully designed cabin, and looks more expensive than it is. This is especially true in the upper panels, where it can achieve luxury status. The Santa Fe also includes Hyundai’s 10-year powertrain warranty.
It offers three engine options. The Santa Fe has a choice of two internal combustion engines, including a 2.5-liter in-line 4 that develops 191 horsepower and 181 lb-ft of torque, and receives an EPA city / highway rating of 25/28 mpg; and a turbocharged 2.5-liter inline-4 that puts out 277 hp and 311 lb-ft of torque and gets 22/28 mpg (city / highway). You can also opt for a completely new hybrid or plug-in hybrid variant of the 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe. Both have a 1.6 liter turbo hybrid drive that uses a unique 6-speed automatic hybrid electric transmission.

New fairing for 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe
For 2022, the Santa Fe gets a new fairing, the XRT, which gives it a tougher look with some exclusive side moldings and wheels, lots of black exterior parts, roof racks and side stairs. Don’t let the looks fool you, however; the XRT does not receive any mechanical upgrades that make it more off-road.
At the base, the Santa Fe is equipped with Hyundai’s SmartSense suite of safety functions, including lane departure warning, lane following assistant and driver alert. You also get adaptive cruise control, 60/40 split rear seats, two USB ports front and rear, trailer sway control, reversing camera, alloy wheels, LED headlights, automatic headlights with high beam assistant and dirt-repellent fabric seats. This standard package also includes a standard 8-inch infotainment screen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Eight trim levels
The Hyundai Santa Fe is available in eight trim levels. This includes the Santa Fe SE base, SEL, Limited and Calligraphy. These models can come with either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive – the latter costing an additional $ 1,700. Hybrid and PHEV are available as Blue Hybrid, SEL Premium Hybrid, Limited Hybrid, SEL Plug-in and Limited Plug-in Hybrid.
Prices start at $ 27,200 for the base Santa Fe SE and go up to $ 45,360 for the Santa Fe Limited plug-in hybrid. The target fees for all models are $ 1,185.
