3 People Dead in Head-on Crash on Santa Fe Drive [Merced, CA]

Head-On Crash near Franklin Road Leave 3 Fatalities

MERCED, CA (Aug 9, 2022) – Sunday morning, three people died in a head-on crash on Santa Fe Drive in Merced.

The accident occurred just before 6 am, near the intersection of Santa Fe Drive and Franklin Road.

Officials said a 34-year-old man driving a westbound Jeep went into the eastbound lanes. The Jeep hit a Nissan driven by a 38-year-old woman. The impact of the crash left three people with serious injuries, both the drivers and one 34-year-old female passenger in the Jeep.

Emergency personnel arrived at the site of the accident shortly after and rendered aid to the victims. However, due to the extent of their injuries, non of the victims survived.

At this time, authorities have not released the identities of the deceased, pending notification of next of kin.
