4 officers injured in shooting while responding to robbery

Four officers were injured in a shootout while responding to a robbery in the northeast of the city, Albuquerque police said. Of the four injured, one was in critical condition. Police said officers responded to the robbery early Thursday morning near Dutch Bros Coffee on Juan Tabo Boulevard near Constitution Avenue when “things went wrong”. the neck over his vest. APD chief Harold Medina said the officer listed in critical condition was shot at the base of the neck over his vest. One officer was shot in the arm, had surgery and is now in a stable condition. An officer was shot but the bullet hit his vest. Medina says this vest saved his life. The last officer was injured in the eye by glass or shrapnel.

Police say a suspect was being treated for a gunshot wound at the University of New Mexico (UNMH) hospital. It is also listed in stable condition.
